How to Manage Account Groups in ecount ERP – Add, Edit, Delete & Use Trading Accounts

📁 Overview

The Account Groups feature in ecount ERP lets you organise your chart of accounts into logical groups. You can add, edit or delete custom groups, and assign each group to a master group. Pre‑defined groups cannot be removed, but their header can be changed.

🧭 Accessing Account Groups

Navigate to Master → Groups from the main menu. The Account Groups screen displays all existing groups.

➕ Adding a New Account Group

  1. Click the Add button.
  2. Enter a custom group name.
  3. Select the appropriate Master Group from the drop‑down list.
  4. Optionally change the Group Header if you are editing a default group.
  5. Press OK to save.

✏️ Editing an Account Group

  1. Select the group you want to modify.
  2. Click Edit.
  3. Update the group name, master group or header as needed.
  4. Click OK to apply changes.

🗑️ Deleting an Account Group

Choose a custom group and click Delete. Pre‑defined groups cannot be deleted.

🔄 Special Feature – Trading Account Groups

When you create a group under the Trading Account master, ecount asks for a short name and automatically generates a linked stock account. This is useful for managing multiple trading accounts.
