This article explains the Company Setup – General tab in ecount ERP, covering language, name case, unit display, report view options, GST settings, E‑Way Bill limits, and advanced billing and branch configurations. It is intended for system administrators.

📋 Overview

The Company Setup screen defines default behavior for the entire ERP system. Configure these settings during company creation and modify only as authorized administrators.

⚙️ Settings / configuration

Language Option

  • Language: Choose the default language (e.g., en = English, gu = Gujarati, hi = Hindi).
  • Changing the language may affect existing data display; take a backup first.

Letter Case For Primary Name

  • UPPERCASE: All text converted to capital letters.
  • Capitalize: First letter of each word capitalized.
  • Lowercase: All text converted to small letters.
  • None: No automatic conversion.

Unit Option

  • Decimal Point For Unit: Number of decimal digits shown for quantity‑based fields. Recommended values: Trading 2‑3, Manufacturing 3‑4, Chemical 4‑6.
  • Decimal Point For Rate: Decimal precision for item rates. Use higher precision for commodities like gold, chemicals, fabrics.

View Option

  • Monthly Zoom Required: Enables month‑wise drill‑down in reports (sales, purchase, cash flow, ledger). Recommended for accounts and management reporting.
  • Day Zoom Required: Enables day‑wise drill‑down for daily transaction details. Recommended for cash/bank review and sales tracking.
  • Default Days Range For List: Sets how many recent days are loaded by default (e.g., 15 days).
  • Start/End Date Of List: Default “From” and “To” dates (Current Date, Month Start/End, Year Start/End). Recommended: Year Start / Year End.
  • End Date Of Get Parent List: Default end date for parent and linked reports. Recommended: Year End.
  • Default Grid Page Size: Number of records loaded initially (50, 100, 200). Recommended: 50.

GST Date Start From

Set the GST implementation start date (India: 01‑07‑2017). Used for GST reports, validation, and tax calculations.

Default E‑Way Bill Limit

Defines the invoice amount threshold for E‑Way Bill applicability (₹50,000 per current Indian rule). System can alert users when the limit is exceeded.

Advance Tab

  • Bill To Bill Enabled: Activates bill‑wise accounting, allowing outstanding balances per invoice.
  • Bill By Bill Compulsory Required: Forces selection of invoice references during receipt/payment entry for accurate tracking.
  • Auto Bill To Bill Outstanding In Sales: Automatically creates bill‑wise outstanding entries during sales billing.
  • Allow Duplicate Account Name: Permits multiple accounts with the same name; generally keep disabled to avoid confusion.
  • Branch Wise Separate Account: Maintains separate account records per branch – for multi‑branch or franchise businesses.
  • Branch Wise Separate Product: Separate item masters per branch – for distinct product catalogs.
  • Branch Wise User Fields Separate: Enables branch‑specific user‑defined fields.
  • Branch Wise Separate Product Master: Creates independent product master management per branch; enable only during implementation planning.
  • Enable Merge Branch: Allows consolidation of transactions and reports across branches. Default Merge Branch Required shows merged data by default.
  • Centralize Voucher Numbers In Sales/Purchase/Bill Return: Uses a single numbering sequence across branches.
  • Two Step Verification Required: Requires approval before completing a transaction – recommended for medium and large businesses.

💡 Tip: Adjust decimal settings according to your industry to balance precision and readability.

⚠️ Note: Enabling branch‑wise separations after data entry may require data migration.

Open Company Setup – General, go to the Unit Option section and set Decimal Point For Unit to 3 (or a higher value). The quantity column will then display three digits after the decimal point.

In Company Setup – General select the Advance Tab and turn on Bill To Bill Enabled. Save the changes to activate bill‑wise accounting.
