Configure Advanced Settings in ecount Company Setup – Branch, Security, Stock & Tax Options

This article explains the options available on the Advanced tab of the Company Setup in ecount, and shows how to enable or configure features such as branch‑wise accounts, two‑step verification, e‑commerce integration, stock management, TDS/TCS, and more.

📋 Overview

The Advanced tab contains a long list of toggleable settings that affect how ecount handles branches, security, inventory, finance, and optional modules. Each setting can be turned on/off or given a default value to match your business processes.

⚙️ Settings / configuration

  • Branch Wise Separate Account – creates a distinct ledger for each branch.
  • Branch Wise Separate Product – treats each branch as an independent company for product master.
  • Branch Wise User Fields Separate – allows custom user fields per branch.
  • Enable Merge Branch – combines data from multiple branches into a single view.
  • Default Merge Branch Requirement – sets the default branch when merging.
  • Centralize Voucher Numbers in Sales/Purchase Bill/Return – shares voucher numbering across branches.
  • Two Step Verification Required – forces OTP/second factor login for added security.
  • E‑Commerce Setup Required – activates the e‑commerce connector.
  • Enable Merge Year Wise – merges data across fiscal years.
  • Bill Submission Required – mandates bill approval before posting.
  • Multi‑window Enabled – allows simultaneous windows for faster data entry.
  • Inactive Logout Time – automatically logs out idle users (default 60 minutes).
  • Depreciation Day/Month – defines the fiscal date for depreciation (e.g., 30‑09).
  • Batch Expiry Days – sets default expiry for batch‑managed items.
  • Freeze / Unfreeze Password – locks user passwords until admin reset.

  • Mfg. Date Required – forces manufacturing date entry.
  • Exp. Date Required – forces expiry date entry.
  • Live Stock Required – keeps live stock balance visible on the balance sheet.
  • Stock In Hand Method – FIFO is the default method.
  • Entry Option Group Wise Formula Required – calculates fields based on group formulas.
  • Group Wise Filter Required – filters data by user group.
  • Default Quantity Name – sets the label for primary quantity (e.g., Quantity).
  • Second Quantity Required – enables a secondary quantity field (e.g., Qty2).
  • Barcode Required – makes barcode entry mandatory.
  • Item Exact Search Required – forces exact match search for items.
  • Save Tax Type Party Wise – saves tax type per party.
  • Multi TDS Required – enables TDS handling for multiple parties.
  • TDS Required – activates Tax Deducted at Source.
  • TDS Round Off – options include None, Up, Down.
  • TCS Required – activates Tax Collected at Source.
  • Intrest Cal. On – defines interest calculation base.

💡 Tips

💡 Tip: Turn on Two Step Verification and set a short Inactive Logout Time to improve security without disrupting workflow.

💡 Tip: Use Branch Wise Separate Product only when each branch truly maintains its own product catalog; otherwise, keep it disabled to avoid duplicate data.

⚠️ Note: Enabling Centralize Voucher Numbers will prevent duplicate voucher numbers across branches but may require re‑numbering existing vouchers.

Frequently asked questions

To require a location when entering transactions, enable the Location Wise Stock Required option in the Advanced tab. This forces users to select a location for each stock entry.

Activate the Second Quantity Required setting (default label “Qty2”) in the Advanced tab. The additional quantity field will appear on sales and purchase invoices.

Turn on TDS Required (and optionally Multi TDS Required) in the Advanced tab. Choose the desired rounding option under “TDS Round Off”.
