Email Setup in ecount ERP: Configure Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook

Last updated Jun 25, 2026

This article explains how to configure ecount ERP to send emails from your personal or corporate email address, including Gmail, Yahoo, and Outlook settings.

đź“‹ Overview

eCount requires a branch‑wise email configuration. Once set, the system can send messages, automatically copy recipients, and add a signature.

🔧 Steps / How‑to

  1. Open the main menu and navigate to Setup → Email Setup.
  2. Select your email provider (Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, or Other). The system will auto‑populate the SMTP port and server details.
  3. Enter your full email address and password. For Gmail, use an App Password (see the Gmail notes below).
  4. Optionally set default To, CC, and BCC addresses. These recipients will be added automatically to every outgoing mail.
  5. Enter your email signature in the Signature field.
  6. Click Test to send a test message to the default To address and confirm the configuration.

⚙️ Settings / configuration

  • Branch selection – repeat the setup for each branch that needs email capability.
  • SMTP server – usually smtp.gmail.com for Gmail, smtp.mail.yahoo.com for Yahoo, smtp.live.com for Outlook/Hotmail.
  • Port – 587 (TLS) or 465 (SSL) depending on the provider.

đź’ˇ Tips

💡 Tip: Use an App Password for Gmail instead of your regular login to avoid two‑step verification blocks.

đź’ˇ Tip: Keep the default To address as a monitoring mailbox so you always receive a copy of sent emails.
