This article explains how to generate and use the Stock Ledger and Stock Statement reports in ecount ERP, including single and multiple product ledgers, printing options, and common troubleshooting.
📋 Overview
The Stock Ledger report provides a general stock overview, while the Stock Statement report shows stock valuation. Both reports list product name, group, category, opening and closing quantities, and second‑unit information when dual stock is enabled. They also offer special sub‑reports such as FIFO, Multi‑Product Ledger, and Negative Stock.
🔧 Steps / How‑to
- Open the report menu: Report → Stock Report → Stock Ledger & Stock Statement Reports.
- Choose the desired report type (Stock Ledger, Stock Statement, etc.).
- For a single product ledger, select a product and press Enter or click the product name in the header.
- Use toolbar shortcuts: Ctrl+P to print, Ctrl+M to calculate closing stock, etc.
- When printing, select the master (all products or a specific product) and then choose the special report you need (FIFO, Multi‑Product Ledger, Negative Stock, etc.).
⚙️ Settings / configuration
- Closing Stock calculation method – choose a method after pressing Ctrl+M. Selecting “NONE” disables automatic calculation; you must enter amounts manually.
- Enable “Stock Required” in the product master if the product should appear in stock reports.
💡 Tips
💡 Tip: Use the common working options (New, Edit, Delete, Date Range, Filter) from the report toolbar for quick adjustments. See the detailed guide Common Working Options and Keyboard Shortcuts.
💡 Tip: The Stock FIFO report pulls receipt data from the last two years; older opening balances appear as “OPENING STOCK”.
⚠️ Common issues / warnings
- Product does not appear in the Stock Report – ensure the “Stock Required” checkbox is ticked in the product master.
- Negative stock values – review the Negative Stock Report to identify dates when stock went below zero.
